Signing the General Contracting Contract

Bids were asked for in several publications for a general contractor for the new school. Several were received and all were of high quality. The winner of the bid was Rouse Construction of Knoxville, Tennessee. Rouse Construction is one of the most well known companies in the industry having been in business since 1937.

Rouse Construction is an open shop contracting firm with capabilities in all construction phases, including offering the owner single source responsibility through design/build services and construction management.

Rouse Construction is completing the construction of the Joint Institute of Neutron Sciences. This facility will be used by government agencies as well as colleges and High Schools.

The photo depicts Director D. Wayne Goforth and Board Chairman Brian Oaks signing the contract alloting the General Contracting duties to Rouse Construction.

The school system looks forward to working closely with a contractor of this ability as well as County Court to see that a top notch facility is built for Union County.

If you would like to see the signature page of the contract we provide it here in PDF form. A special thanks to Mr. Goforth in providing this to us. The contract in it's whole is available at the board office across from the Maynardville Post Office.
